I am pleased to announce that my latest novel, The Wolf’s Mouth, is now available on Amazon.
This standalone Western novel is what some call a “search” novel about the attempt to recover two little girls from a Comanche band with a chief named Angry Wolf. The journey commences near the Canadian River in the Texas panhandle and continues through West Texas to Copper Canyon in Mexico, a location I discovered during my research and was surprised to learn is many times larger than Arizona’s Grand Canyon.
The main protagonists are new characters, but as I often do, I have included several characters from previous books in smaller roles, including Grit McKay and his adopted son, the Kiowa Rover, from our Peacemaker-winning novel Grit and former Buffalo Soldiers from another Peacemaker-winner, Old Dogs. There should be ample action for those who seek that element in a novel, and, of course, a bit of romance.
My writing tends to focus on character development, and I think readers will especially enjoy Con, Ginny, and old Ezra. Sorry, you will need to read The Wolf’s Mouth to find out.
My last novel, Dismal Trail, received a nice reception from readers in both commentary and sales. I don’t recall ever receiving more requests for a sequel. I do listen to readers, and I am on the greedy side when it comes to sales, so I am currently working on a sequel tentatively titled Dismal Days (always subject to change). In this one, Marshal Morg Fraser has surrendered his badge but considers picking up another. Look for an October release.
As always, thanks for your interest and support and good reading.
